Karin's role originally belonged to Femina.

Sety's role originally belonged to Hawk.
Hawk's stats: 14 mag, 17 skill, 14 speed, 12 def and 13 Mdef. Con 9.

Daisy appeared with a band of enemy thieves and was recruitable by Asaello.

Asaello was playable, he joined on the first turn of the chapter Daisy was recruitable in. He recruited Daisy in said chapter.

Arthur was playable, not much is known about when/how he joins but it can be assumed that he came with Delmudd in Chapter 21.

Jane had Nanna's role in the beta story.

Rienhart was recruitable by Olwen.

Evayle was named Briggid from the start of the game.

Gunna is an unused recruitable Bishop. His death quote strongly implies that he is Asvel's grandfather.

August (leaf's tactician) was originally a playable character.

Due to the trend of using substitute characters in the beta stages and the fact that Jane has Nanna's role, it can be assumed that Tristan had Delmudd's role although no leftover mug has been found (however the same can be said for Hawk).

There was a chapter in the desert where you used the Kia staff to restore people turned to stone. Lachesis was planned to be one of those characters.

Yurius and Manfroy appear in random chapters and attack your army if they get in range. Ishtar was also supposed to make a standalone battle appearance (there is unused text in the game left over from this scene).

Arion was supposed to kill Dean for his relationship with Linoan, this drives Linoan to hate him.

Mareeta's true mother was revealed to be Aira (Mareeta's real mother was never revealed in the story so Aira is still a possibility).

There are several unused items left over in the game's data from the beta stages.

The Gae Bolg was used by Altenna during her one time apperance, this was taken out due to the difficulty of fighting someone with a holy weapon.

The Torehammer is unused, it is left over from Ishtar's scrapped battle appearance.

Loputsu is unused, left over from Yurius' originally planned battle appearances.

The Master Seal is an unused item, it's thought to be used for some classes to promote to a 3rd tier (like Pegasus Knight to Falcon Knight).

Several classes from Genealogy of the Holy War have unused data in the final version of the game (Lord Knight, Master Knight, Falcon Knight, Dragon Master, Junior Lord, Emperor, Dark Prince and Forrest). There are also unused map sprites for the Princess, Queen and Female Loputo Mage classes.
