Several characters had different classes in the beta versions. Reptor of Freege was a Sage while Langobart of Dozel was a Great Knight. (However this could be due to the lack of the Baron class). Reptor also had different stats to reflect his Sage status.

Mag: 30, Skill: 21, Spd: 20, Def: 22, Res: 20

The main character of Generation I was originally planned to start as a "JuniorLord" (the class of his son, Celice). Ethlin, Lachesis and Leaf were also planned to be Junior Lords as well.

Cuan was planned to start as a Master Knight instead of a Duke Knight.

Jamuka was planned to be a "crab-legged" AxeFighter.

The Mage Triangle of Freege (Vampa, Fetra and Elui) were Mage Knights instead of the triangle of Fire/Thunder/Wind Mages.

In the final chapter, Arione would join you if you talked to him with Altenna.

The leader of the mercenary group Aless was a part of was named Fergus. This is most likely where the idea for the character in FE5 came from (at least the name).

Beta Plot Ideas
King Trabant of Thracia was meant to somehow live through his "death" in Chapter 9 and reappear in Chapter 10 as Alvis' guards. (Similar to how Arione's situation)

Instead of Manfroy brainwashing Yuria to do his bidding he instead was meant to use Alvis' body as a puppet. Yuria was instead locked up in Velthomer to be executed, she could only be rescued when Manfroy and Alvis were defeated. Strangely Alvis wasn't given his Falaflame tome, it was instead in the possession of Hilda (whom was of Fala descent).

Aless (Ares) was meant to be Eltosian's son with Lachesis as the mother, it was removed due to incest.

Instead of Arione going to sieze Chalphy in the final chapter he was instead meant to form a wall to protect Barhara. After talked to by Altenna the two were given instant lover status.

Instead of Levin's son starting with the Holesty tome, they were instead given it by Levin in the final chapter where he appeared as a neutral unit.

During Chapter 8 of Generation II Celice and Yuria were supposed to become auto-lovers at one point in the chapter. In the final version being in a certain formation exists to make Celice and Yuria fall in love around the same time as this event would have occured, signifying that perhaps some of the data of this event remains.

Beta Names
Loputsu's original name was Loki. Notice that the names of the 3 dark spells (Jormundr, Fenrir and Hel) are the names of Loki's children in Norse Mythology. It was probably changed due to too much Norse influence.

The Ritters (knight battalions) had gone under several name changes throughout the development. The Lance Ritter of Lenster was originally called The Einherjar Lance Knights. It was changed to Lazan Ritter (which is german for Lance Knights) and again changed to it's final and simplest form, Lance Ritter. Chalphy's battalion was originally slated to make an appearance as the Blatte Ritter (probably planned during the german naming fad, it's german for Blade Knights). However in the final version Chalphy's battalion is unnamed (though it probably would have been Blade Ritter).
