Wow. That...must be really good then. I take it it is based on events/gaidens? But with like, *If Person A and Person B have an A support, then Person C (Ver AB) comes in? Or does it force editted Afa Drops down their throat?
And I'd like to see a purchasable Hammerne type thing to replace the way that FE4 did the shop. Urm... Will it still be no upgrade items needed? Or can you just get Promotion items dirt cheap at stores? (Like how I fixed Amelia...) This....is the first time I've been excited about this hack. I didn't think I'd ever actually want to play it... |

Yah, it will be based on supports. A purchasable Hammerne staff will be the replacement for the repair shop from the original FE4. I'm not sure about the promotion thing, I'm thinking of maybe just throwing out an infinite use Master Seal to compensate for FE4's promotion system.
And it's news time! Chapter 1 is nearly completed! Here are the first public screenshots of Chapter 1: The Search for Edain! (IMG:http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g14/ArchsageX/FEIV_Advance/screneshots/11.png) Eltosian and his Cavalier (IMG:http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g14/ArchsageX/FEIV_Advance/screneshots/12.png) Kinbois and his crew are ready to take Evans back! The following screens contain spoilers for those who haven't played FE4 before, view at your own risk!
(IMG:http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g14/ArchsageX/FEIV_Advance/screneshots/14.png) Prince Jamuka escorting Edain and Dew from Marpha castle. (IMG:http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g14/ArchsageX/FEIV_Advance/screneshots/13.png) Gandolf is wasting no time in pursuing pursuing the escaping Edain and her buddy Dew.
Also, some more excellent work from our neighborhood Nintenlord, he has begun replicating the look of the original FE4 maps! This is the first screen of the progress of his work. YO! Give us a patch, NAO! I'd like to play further in here than I did on the actual game... Hehe.
Will recruiting Ayra work the same? -I'm assuming that the skills to double attack thing will be gone. That was my major beef with FE4- |

The demo will come out when we have all the mugs for the characters in the prologue, until then you'll just have to be patient
Every character can double attack and every character can critical. (I believe I made patches of the original FE4 so every character could double and critical a while back because that was my major beef with FE4 too) |

Looks like he still needs to modify which tiles use what palettes... He should look into Seisen's overworld animations, and import them over into this. They seem to use a derivative of LZ, but then again, a lot of SNES games do. I think Monshou used a format slightly similar to Super Mario or Super Metroid, but last I checked was years ago :/ |

I'll bring up the overworld animations up to him next time he's on AIM, however we might use the FE5 overworld animations, new ones entirely or just keep the same ol' GBA ones. And of course the finished product of the tile swapping will be much much better than what is in that shot.

Wow pretty interesting on the screenshots! I'll wait for the game patch half way through. I'll still play the demo because of the anticipation of this FE4Advance is pure ace.
Another thing why do you guys have beef with the FE4 Double attacking and criticals? |

That AREN'T a person running at another one? OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOGMOGMGOMGOGMOGMGOMGOGMOGMGOMGMG. I really hope it works, because that would be full of so much killer you have no idea. *Stabs spriters* How many mugs are left? |

There are a few who just use the same sprite... Thats bosses i believe. We need the old Arvis but for now young Arvis is pretty cool. Beowulf, basically all of the cast.

This looks awesome. Seriously. A quick question, will you still have the infinite deployable guys?

You can deploy every unit available to you, however once started if you chose not to take someone with you from the begining you cannot bring them out.

Anyway, that's pretty nifty. Can |

HOLY SHIT. Does the GBA even have that much RAM? Or does it even care... ... It's really not all that much data. And considering the SNES could do it just fine, as could the NES... and the GBA is spoiled in many regards. The NES tricked the system into allowing more than eight sprites by storing units as plain graphics. Which suck, because that left half a full bank of graphics for actual overworld tiles, and the other to units' standing animations. So roughly about 128 tiles for the maps to use--the GBA maps have I think eight~ten times that (I don't think 1024 on the spot, but hey, you never know). |

HOLY SHIT. Does the GBA even have that much RAM? Or does it even care... It's been tested, the max units that you can have deployed for one side I believe is 50 so there shouldn't be any problems. Can I we get a demo that doesn't have the mugs inserted? I really don't care too much about those, so.. nyeh. I'm not handing out private demos, only special people get to play it ahead of time to go through it and report bugs and give hacking advice to help the development of the project. Then after we're done with all that crap we release tiny demos to keep the public happy and then the project will be done and everyone can enjoy playing it. |

Questions here!
1-Who will be the lucky bastards (Don't mind that. I'm not angry) that will have the pleasure to test the game? 2-There are going to be new charas on the game? Much like that unnamed archer, who didn't exist on the original FE4 (I think his name is Darren) |

1. Well you know I gotta play through it seeing as I am coding all the events in. We have a civilian beta tester and the rest of the crew (excluding Nintenlord because he doesn't want to play it before it's completely finished to avoid spoilers and the like) tests it too. I'm also going to ask some other people to be hacking testers (people who play through the game and give hacking advice on how to improve it).
2. Well of course there will be new characters! Darren is the revealed of a handful of new characters introduced to the game. We're adding in some FE5 Cameos COUGHfergusCOUGH and the rest is well... a secret! Don't worry though, there won't be that many new characters, in my little development plan I see around 6 to 8 more playable characters total, most of them joining in Generation II. |

It's been tested, the max units that you can have deployed for one side I believe is 50 so there shouldn't be any problems. How'd you try: did you attempt to place as many as possible and hit the generic barrier, or did you raise the bar value :? It's stoppage is the same reason why level creators in many console games have a limit: there's really more room past the limit, but it's to stop things if they get out of hand. Obviously, you'll have have 50 units of yours on the field at once. Sounds like IS is lazy and issued their generic limit they've been doing since day one. Not like you'll need more than 50--Seisen most likely has the same limit. |

Well, I did a little event test and loaded every playable character in the first generation on one map, they all did fine. Did the same for all potential second gen characters, still ok. So now I know for a fact, you will always be able to deploy every potential playable unit in every map.

Wat about enemy units, are they on a seperate code or something or do they use the same thing on the map. If so wouldn't that put a stopper on your 50 limit.
